Licenses
An overview of my currently active licenses.
Advanced technologies make it challenging to verify how images are created.
I only publish or distribute images when all necessary licenses or rights are acquired.
Two-Dimensional Works
Since 2013 I have built up a library of 10'000+ licensed 3D assets from different Third Party Licensors like DAZ Productions, Inc.
By paying the one-time license fee for the "Content" I acquired a personal, perpetual "Standard License".
- I can access, use, copy and modify the Content in the creation and presentation of two-dimensional animations and renderings.
- I can publish, market, distribute, transfer, sell or sublicense the created two-dimensional animations, renderings and other works.
This means that I own the copyright of the two-dimensional images I create and can use them for commercial purposes.
The created images or videos could be used for social media, websites, print, broadcasting, merchandise like clothing or in two-dimensional games like visual novels depending on the specific mutually agreed contract.
If any images I create are used without my explicit permission the corresponding laws and regulations apply.
Game Developer License for "Daz Originals"
To distribute licensed 3D assets in Three-Dimensional Works like real-time rendered games or simulations often a separate license is required.
The end-product needs to be sufficiently encrypted to ensure that the 3D assets and textures cannot be extracted.
In 2015 I was able to purchase two personal, perpetual Game Developer Licenses for "Daz Originals":
- Indie Game Developer License; SKU: 12113
- Commercial Game Developer License; SKU: 12479
In 2017 the Game Developer Licenses were succeeded by an "Interactive License".
DAZ Productions, Inc confirmed that the original Game Developer Licenses remain perpetually valid for "Daz Originals".
You can find additional use cases and the details of the terms in section "3.0 Interactive License Addendum" of the DAZ Productions, Inc. EULA.
Royalty-free loops and samples
I have purchased licenses for Royalty-free audio loops and samples from different Third Party Licensors like Sony Creative Software.
- I have a nonexclusive right to use the licensed music in my own original multimedia productions
After a one-time license fee has been paid no further payments are owed when using royalty-free music.
